Q: What is a Yarn?
A: Yarn is a unique story-telling environment on The Daily Jolt. Read a few yarns to get the idea, or
jump right in and start your own, give the reader two choices, and wait for others to write the next chapter!
Q: Any recommendations when spinning my first YARN?
A: It's a good idea to start your yarn with something that others would be interested in adding onto, and to write in such a way that someone
can easily pick up where you left off.
Q: Hey! Why can't I add to a YARN, and why is the site yelling at me about registration!?
A: Before you can spin a YARN you must be a registered Daily Jolt user. Registration is fast and simple. You'll also get your own Daily
Jolt Profile, so your friends can follow your YARN, plus we'll never spam you. EVER. NEVER EVER.
Q: What are those numbers in parentheses next to my name?
A: Yarn gives you the opportunity to build a reputation for yourself as you create your own
yarns or contribute to others'. Your score is based on whether or not your readers like your contributions.
Q: What if I run out of time adding to a YARN?
A: If you're worried about running out of time, just copy everything you've worked on, refresh your browser, then paste it back into
YARN. You'll have another twenty minutes to continue working on your exquisite YARN.
Q: Can I eat YARN?
A: We don't recommend it. Especially if you are a cat.

Q: How can I tell if anyone liked (or disliked) my YARN or thread?
A: Daily Jolt Profiles have been enhanced to help you track your YARN entries, and provides
statistics on how many people like and dislike each individual work. You can check your profile and those of other fellow spinners by clicking on their
user name above each thread of a YARN.
Q: What if someone spins a really inappropriate YARN about my mom?
A: Beneath each thread of a YARN there's a link that asks whether you believe the YARN belongs or not. By clicking this link, you'll
notify the YARN Factory in Cambridge who will review the YARN and make a decision on whether it is worthy or whether to let the cat play with it
instead.
Q: How do I get to be a featured author or have my story featured?
A: Three words: Cold, hard, cash. It's that simple. A c-note can do wonders for lifting yourself in the world of YARN. If you're
broke, that's ok too. Consistently spinning great yarns and adding great threads will get you noticed by the community and the spinsters at the
YARN Factory.
